“The best advice I can give anyone who is struggling with weight management is to stop worrying about every single calories you consume. Pay attention to your lifestyle instead. I used to constantly think about my weight and feel guilty over what I had eaten and worry about what I was going to eat that I forgot to live. I now focus on a lifestyle that supports my healthy weight so I don’t have to think about it anymore.
I schedule going to the gym and if it’s on my schedule then I make sure it gets done. I’ve found out about foods that I’m sensitive through my naturopath so I am conscious about what to avoid on most occasions. I also make it a point to never ever bring junk food in my house. If I want to eat some chips then I eat it when I’m outside and I get just enough to satisfy my craving, a small of bag of chips usually does it. I don’t mindlessly sit in front of the TV and eat a big bag of chips as I used to do.
Preparation is very important for me to stay in control. I make a menu for each day the night before so I know exactly what to eat the next day with focus on nutritious eating.
Everything I just mentioned helps me NOT to think and stress about food and frees me up to just live my life!”
