A healthy gut keeps you smiling

There exists a strong gut-brain connection. So close that the small intestines are referred to as the second brain. Your gut can work well without any control from your brain.
This cannot be said about any other organ in your body.What we eat affects our mood and vice versa. Strong emotions such as anger, fear can cause stomach upset and poor appetite.
Serotonin is the feel-good chemical that helps control mood in the brain. Over 90% of all serotonin in the body is found in the gut. In the intestines, serotonin is responsible for contractions that help move food along.
There is much to learn about the gut and its connection to the brain.
There is a rising body of evidence that supports the role in which microorganisms play in gut signalling to the brain and possibly influencing emotions.This suggests, keeping a healthy  gut can possibly help put you in a happier mood.
